We all know that radiators come in all shapes and sizes, and so to make sure Snappit fits perfectly, you will need to measure the ‘tail rail’, that’s the copper pipe that comes from the floor and into your radiator. To do this, grab a nearby tape measure. The Snappit pipes are 200mm and should fit standard radiators in UK households, but they will need cutting.

Now you have the measurement, mark it on your Snappit pipe using a non-permanent ink pen. Once you are happy with your measurement, use a standard hacksaw, available in all good DIY stores, and saw off the part you do not need. Do not worry if it is not a perfectly clean-cut, because you will use this end towards the floor and will then be covered by the Snappit collar.

And now for the final step. Take hold of the Snappit pipe, making sure the cut edge is pointing towards the floor, line it up with your tail rail (copper pipe) and slowly push the open side of the Snappit onto the pipe. Once on, you will hear a clear click, and by that, you will know the Snappit is securely attached to your pipe, for a simple but perfect finish. And, don’t forget to add your collars at the bottom of the pipe, by easily pulling apart the collar, applying it to the top of the Snappit and sliding it down until it is firmly sitting on the floor, and clipping together the teeth.
